Pav Bhaji Recipe – Mumbai Style – With Step by Step by Shivani Sethi

Ingredients (serving for 4)

Boiled Potatoes 3 to 4 pcs

Boiled Cauliflower Florets 5 pcs

Cooked Beans 10 gms

Boiled peas ten gms 

Boiled carrots 20 gms

Onions 2 medium chopped finely

2 Tomatoes medium chopped finely

I tbs Ginger Garlic Paste

1 to 2 Green Chillies

2 to 3 tbs MDH Pav Bhaji Masala

Butter 50 gms butter

Juice of 1 Lemon (optional)

Salt to taste

Pav Bhaji Recipe Method

  1. Boil selected vegetable in a cooker adding salt until 2 to 3 whistles. Remove from fire and keep aside to cool
  2. Take a heavy bottomed pan add one tbs of butter add ginger garlic paste, chopped onions, tomatoes and green chillies and sauté for a minute then add the boiled as well. Then with the help of a masher or a hand blender mash, they well until it becomes a semi-solid paste.
  3. Now add the MDH Pav Bhaji Masala and mix well and until the bhaji loses the butter and the colour turns orange-red.
  4. Now add a few drops of Lemon Juice and for the final serving add a dollop of butter.Your bhaji is now ready to serve.

 

For the Pav

 

Slit the pav into two halves apply butter generously on both sides and in another pan add the buttered Pav to toast. Remove them from fire and serve it with your delicious bhaji finally your favourite pav bhaji is ready to be served like it is sold in the streets of Mumbai.
